Dive in. If your looking for the place where locals play pool and grab an affordable after work refreshment this is it. These folks have been here telling their tales over a drink since time began. I was starting to lose hope that I would find a real dive bar in S Florida but this is it. I will be OK.

This is the diviest of dive bars. It's a caricature of dive bars. It's so honest about what it is. You will either love it or hate it. It all depends on your expectations before you get there. We loved it, an awesome place for absolutely zero pretense. God-awful dirt cheap large drinks. The full selection of fried things sold at Costco from the kitchen. A surly waitress who remembers your drink order the first time around. Cash only, but they'll happily open you a tab (and an ATM on site). Everyone in the bar knows everyone. The clientele is the cast of Blazing Saddles and has been going there since it opened sixty years ago. And, yes, be warned if it matters, it is very much a smoking bar, but the patio is great if you need some fresh air. Drink cautiously; they're "well" and they're strong. And come back a few times before you make a final decision.

This is the best bar in South Florida! The people are down to earth and friendly. No pretentiousness here! You just come as you are and have a great time!

Ya ever go to a bar, and you just want to relax and enjoy your drink, then you have some annoying bar fly that thinks he has the world figured out and doesn't know when to shut his mouth continue to unwantingly pollute your private space via running his mouth?... Well, this sums my experience at Gradys... The place seemed cool, definitely a dive bar, the bartender was friendly, the bar stools were not the same, some had backrests, others did not, so that added to the personality, but annoying guy didn't stop talking and couldn't get the point, which led to us pounding our one drinks and getting the eff out of there. Also, there were a lot of cigarette smokers...

Real drinks for real people at REALLY good prices! One of the original and oldest Ft. Lauderdale establishments. Get a SUPER COLD beer;they have a good selection. If you appreciate dive bars and like to mingle with locals (and all types of characters) this is the spot. Without a doubt, Marty (bartender..basically runs the show) makes the place! She is truly genuine and remembers everyone (even if she met them just once!) Let her know you found the place through Yelp! We always stop off here for one or two beers before going to dinner, downtown, etc. It is NEVER boring, I can promise you that!

OMG, this is a real dive. I seriously did not even know that a place like this existed any longer. On the west coast all the dive bar's have become the hip hang-outs because of cheap drinks and a random crowd. This place does not stand a chance of becoming hip, and said "random" crowd has been coming here since the place opened in 1940. You think I am joking, go find out for yourself. Bar Food burger and fries $3.50, Draft beer: $1.75, sitting next to someone toothless and falling off of their stool: free. Our party of seven got fairly sauced that evening, ate some mediocre bar food and got out of the place for under $100. These memories will last a lifetime, seriously.

If you're looking for a DIVE stop right here!! If you're looking for a swanky stuffy "want to be seen" type of place, don't stop here, go to Yolo or Vibe. Grady's is everything it promises to be.. a bar, with an eclectic jukebox, cheap drinks, a couple of pool tables and an outstanding bartender, Marty. We recently purchased a home around the corner and were looking to find what is good in the neighborhood. We are very familiar with Ft. Lauderdale and the many bars and restaurants in town. It's been a long time since I've gone somewhere in town and felt that I truly got my money's worth. The people here are just as unique as the establishment, colorful. This place reminds me of "old" Ft. Lauderdale.. unrefined, unapologetic, a little weird, but lots of fun. My fiance enjoyed his burger so much he ordered another one and I was delighted with my tuna melt. Good times!

This is a dive with a great, GREAT kitchen and GREAT prices for drinks. I went at 4pm on a Wednesday with a dear friend. We sat down for White Russians and cheese burgers. The burger is divine, greasy but tasty and it was freakin fantastic. The clientele is so great. Friendly and classic. And the bar tender sometimes doubles as the chef. if you are ever in the mood for something a little dirty but classic ~ get your butt over to Grady's. I look forward to bringing some friends here cuz I felt honored to be a part of it ~ Oh and pool tables and a juke box are great and no one there will be your alibi cuz they wouldn't remember you ~ it's a blessing and a curse, no?
